PORTOLAN - a medium-sized enterprise by conviction
For the last 20 years, the name PORTOLAN has been standing for customer-oriented support, provided by a medium-sized company for medium-sized companies. Since 1990, the founder and managing partner Mr. Joachim Nürk has been in charge of the globally operating software provider. With installations in 50 countries, PORTOLAN has become the leading company in the area of finance software on the IBM System i. Nevertheless, the company has never forgotten its Swabian roots. PORTOLAN is a convinced medium-sized enterprise that focuses on medium-sized enterprises. Our company puts the emphasis on good customer relations and we are closely connected to the region and our employees. And that's the reason why we are committed to offer apprenticeships to young people in order to prepare them for their working lives.
For us, every customer is also a partner and is being taken care of accordingly, in Swabian or even in High German. I'm always ready to listen to colleagues, customers and partners, says Joachim Nürk. This is a matter of course for us.
PORTOLAN has two business areas. On the one hand, we develop and implement our own finance software in collaboration with ERP partners. On the other hand, we are a software provider of the latest SAP solution for medium-sized enterprises called Business ByDesign (=> ByD).
Both areas are expanding.
Software products by PORTOLAN stand for the highest degree of functionality, quality and stability. Each of our modules is "Made in Germany" - every single program, every programming line. New developments are thoroughly examined and approved by our quality management. After that, endurance tests take place. Once completed successfully, the latest PORTOLAN product is ready to be shipped to customers around the world.
